Temple Independent School District held a Technology Fair April 4th. Throughout the day,
University of
Mary Hardin-Baylor Performance Studies students gave performances via videoconferencing
equipment.
At this Open House, Technology Fair, presenters gave demonstrations of effective use of
cutting-edge,
distance communication, technologies in the new TISD Videoconferencing Center.
Christine Pointer powerfully performed
African-American poetry.
Carlotta Russell Maneice passionately delivered
Sojourner Truth's Ain't I a Woman speech.
Diane Hallock dynamically performed Jim Baker's Blue Jay Yarn by Mark Twain.
Jessica Stockel performed her moving Holocaust
survivor story.
Jenna Artus beautifully presented
the story of Frida Kahlo, who was a Mexican surrealist artist.
Shannon Cunningham powerfully delivered Patrick
Henry's Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death speech.
Lisa Banks dramatically performed a
Zora Neale Hurston story.
Cynthia Brehm energetically performed
poetry.
Other Performance Studies students participated in interactive, videoconference,
discussions and activities throughout the day. The Performance Studies Division in the
Dept. of Communcation and Dramatic Arts at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is an
international leader in perfomance via distance technologies.
