
Marianna Lugo
Marianna Lugo is a Bi-lingual, Performance
Studies graduate from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
She has graduated with Double Majors in Performance Studies from the Dept. of
Communication and Dramatic Arts
and in Spanish from the Dept. of Modern Foreign Languages at UMHB.
At UMHB she performed in stage plays and in the Cru film Fairytail.
She served on stage and film crews.
She produced and performed her one-woman presentation of the life of Rita
Moreno.
Marianna was active on the BellNet
Peer-Mentoring Team
and in distance communication,
performance work.
She has been a member and performer with The
Puerto Rican Folkloric Dance and Cultural Company,
Austin-based performing organization. It is recognized by the Institute of Puerto
Rican Culture
for its authentic and high quality representation of traditional music and dances from
Puerto Rico.
This professional company of dancers and musicians share the joy and liveliness of Puerto
Rican
culture at artistic and cultural events in the Austin community throughout the year.
Marianna has been a choreographer and dance instructor. She choreographed
A Midsummer Night's Dream for the UMHB Performance Studies Program at the
Cultural Activities Center of Temple, TX. She has been seen on stage as a
performer
in a broad range of projects at UMHB
and at the Cultural Activities Center of Temple, TX.
Currently, Marianna is
the Film Host for Salsa TV, Lat TV, Channel 17, in Austin, TX
.
