Note- I am often asked about how to get film production jobs.
My students, alumni, colleagues and I have found
that we have to locate ourselves where a lot of film production goes on,
such as here in Texas in the Austin area. As film talent, we have licensed, reputable talent agents
to represent us. As talent and crew we have networked in face-to-face film groups
and e-film groups through a wide range of social media. My students, alumni, associates and I dive right into
film projects in our area. It is important for us to meet and work with other filmmakers face-to-face
and then can continue to network online. We have found that it is easy to move up in film crews,
once we have proven ourselves on film teams, even as PAs. We have a lot of jobs posted here online
through our Texas Film Commission and many e-resources:
