Week 5- Greek Theater, Read chapter ten
Week 6- Commedia Dell'Arte, Read chapter eleven
Week 7- Elizabethan and Shakespearian Theater-Read chapter twelve
Week 8- 17th c. Neo-classic Theater, Read chapter thirteen
Week 9- Seventeenth Century Comedy, Read chapter fourteen
Week 10- Realism and Naturalism-Read chapter fifteen
Week 11- Early Twentieth Century Nonrealism-Read chapter sixteen
Week 12- Brecht and Epic Theater-Read chapter seventeen

Testing: Be prepared for weekly pop quizzes. Plan for a final essay examination.


Grading: One half of your grade is to be based on in-class performances. One fourth is to be based on daily, in-class participation.The final fourth is to be based on quizzes and the final examination, with the final exam weighing three times that of weekly quizzes.

Attendance: Since you are to be graded everyday, it is essential that you attend every class and that you are on time. Absences are only to be excused if you bring in a note from a doctor, dean of students, or some other recognized authority.


Objective: Students will perform monologues and scenes with knowledge, confidence, and technique.
 

Workshop Requirements:
Students are expected to participate in five events from the following categories.
They are personal marketing workshops (Mondays at 11 a.m., dates to be announced),
laboratory performances (Mondays at 11 a.m., dates to be announced), productions (on or off campus), Humanities programs/events
(dates to be announced).
