The Last Waltz
Film Project, Spring Semester '10

On-Line News- ISurfBelton, KDH, KWTX, UMHB

The Last Waltz is a touching story about an old man named Waltz, who has been in a coma in a nursing facility. He has pushed others away for much of his adult life because of his wife's death and scarring military experiences. One day, Waltz suddenly wakes out of his coma. He spends what little time he has left trying to get in touch with his estranged family and to make peace with God.

Buzz Rahm, long-time regional actor, plays Waltz, an old man hardened by the events of his life but who still longs for emotional human connection. Tank Turner, Performance Studies and Film Alumnus, performs Steve, an unfailingly positive nurse and caretaker for Waltz. Performance Studies and Film Students make up the rest of the cast. Ara Kellough is Christine, a simple but lovely, young nurse. Mary McDaniel is a doctor. Kacey Cox plays Waltz's daughter, Joanna, a Red Cross employee with a soft face and soothing voice. Dave Koontz is Waltz's son, Shawn.
