Mission Statement- In alignment with the university's
mission statement, the goal of this course is to train skillful
communicators
and speech performance leaders, who
demonstrate effective skills in
distance communication
as they serve in a global society while exercising faith-based
discernment.

for videoconferences and/or
Webcasting.
- Students will develop components for an effective e-portfolio.
- Students will develop an effective online blog.
- Students will develop skillful digital voice files.
- Students will develop effective PowerPoint presentations
- Students will develop a Christian philosophy of effective
communication in a global society
- Students will demonstrated skillful communication in a final
presentation on effective communication via
e-technologies.
Course Requirements:
1. Students will complete assigned reading.
2. Students will communicate via e-mail.
3. Students will communicate via virtual groups and/or
communities.
4. Students will research and study samples of effective
Web sites. 5. Students will produce an effective web site utilizing
modern technologies. 6. Students will teach and mentor at a distance.
8. Students will communicate effectively via cameras for videoconferences and/or Web
casts. 9. Students will develop online blogs
and digital
voice files.
10. Students will develop an e-portfolio.
11. Students will develop PowerPoint presentations
12. Students will develop a faith-based philosophy of
effective communication in a global society.

One third of the final grade is based
on required projects.
One third is based on the following: responsibility, academic
integrity, dependability, effort, time invested, and class attendance/participation.

on exams and final presentation.
