Jan. 28, 2012-

My masters degree in Public Administration was conferred March 2011.  …Now, I have to work on … finding funds to obtain my doctorate… I plan to go after a doctorate in educational leadership and curriculum and instruction… I will be speaking at the South Florida Writer's Association Mango Writers Conference in Miami, FL, February 4th.  I will be speaking about the African American Experience through African American poetry which I will perform with dramatic delivery, creative arts, body movement, and audience participation; preparing for the 2012 National Veterans Creative Arts Competition; a member of Crossroads Toastmasters Club, and will be performing at a classical poetry writer's special event in Coral Gables at Books n Books, March 24th.  I enjoy singing gospel music with two of my sisters, Eva Brown-Peck and Evangelist Colleen Johnson, aka The Brown Sisters.  I'm still singing with the Nova Singers, ambassadors of music for Nova Southeastern University.  This dynamic, classically based group of music lovers performs a variety of music in classical, jazz, folk, gospel, spiritual, inspirational, patriotic, ethnic, etc.

I've had a great educational experience at UMHB in the performance studies program that others dream about.  I feel so fortunate to have been a part of your program double majoring in performance studies communication and mass communication/journalism with a drama minor.  I draw from this knowledge and experience continually.  It applies to so many areas of my life and the things I do today.
