ABOUT AUSTIN MODELS & TALENT (aka, AM&T)
Austin Models & Talent began as an online network (forum / posting
board) for models, actors, and photographers. Over the past few years,
we have provided free resources and photography to Central Texas models and acting talent. Our goal has
always been to give something back to the talent community & never with any fees or other forms of
compensation. We support local charities and fund raisers and have helped to bring talent and photographers together once a month in Austin, DFW, Houston, and San Antonio for free group networking photo shoots.

Jeff Curley, who grew up in the Southern California modeling and film community, heads the new
agency. No longer involved in those aspects of the industry, Jeff's previous credits include
professional photography, casting, and film production packaging (including budgets and shopping projects for
finance and distribution). The new agency will follow the same integrity that locals have come to expect
from AM&T.

Austin Models & Talent, and various local photographer offer group shoots with various themes. As with all the shoots...they are open to anyone of any age, male or female. The shoots are free of charge and models/actors who attend receive free copies of all the images shot by the various photographers who attend. They are have new guest photographers come out also.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain some new photos for your portfolios, but is also a chance to test shoot with photographers, gain experience, and possibly meet the photographers or talent you want to work with on a
one-on-one situation later. We will also be available to shoot free theatrical headshots for anyone who attends. Last year I alone shot over 80 free headshot shoots for local talent. Our monthly group shoots have included many models and actors and we've had as many as 10 photographers present for a single shoot event. It's really a worthwhile situation for local talent.

Austin Models & Talent sponsors a free shoot for Texas models and actors/actresses. Each month,
there is a specific theme for the shoot. This mailing is going out to people who have either attended, or wanted
to attend, these shoots in the past... Or who have done other events, such as the free headshot shoots, with me in the past.

I wanted to let everyone know that we just launched our newest model,photography and acting talent resource... this time specifically for the talented people in SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS! The San Antonio Models & Talent Forum provides a general purpose posting forum for models, photographers, and other industry professionals. It is G-Rated and mainstream in nature, just like it's two sister forums - Austin and Houston.

We will celebrate in the new year with our first FREE SAN ANTONIO MODEL
AND TALENT GROUP THEME SHOOT -- Professional photographers will donate their time to shoot local models and actors (portfolio shots and headshots), giving the images to the models/talent free of charge. In
addition, we shall have a drawing for a free professional quality portfolio case ($100 value).

Watch the new forum in San Antonio for details. In the meantime, feel free to come share in the conversation, advertise your service, or just introduce yourself with a short bio, stats, and/or picture. If you don't have a photo of yourself online, look into OneTalentSource.Com - They offer free online portfolio and headshot sites! We're also looking for San Antonio based resources to list on the forum - if you know of any, please post them!!

THE photograher is taking "stock photos" ... these are generic random pictures of real people
in real life situations- to sell or market a product... across the board. THINK of the ads you get in the mail from your bank that show a family playing with a new puppy & planting a new tree - that is stock photography.

It is always OK to do trade out with a photographer pics for pics - they take your pic & develop
your ( beautiful ) picture to add to their portfolio to sell themselves on the ability to shoot. Using props in a photo obviously means the PROPS play a role - (ie SELLING) (HEADSHOTS USED IN THE INDUSTRY HARDLY EVER USE ANY PROPS - JUST YOU!!! ) FOR stock pic examples search the internet for "stock photo" & see what you find - IF he can (and he can) - He plans on selling them to the highest bidder to use forever & forever & forever & NEVER pay you. REAL professional photographers with any integrity will be honest about the usage & offer to pay SOMETHING... BTW a lifetime buy out on a photo for marketing use runs in the THOUSANDS- the few I have done as print jobs ( I am primarily an actress not a print model) were limited to 3- 5 yrs and the rates were always $1,000+!
